NFL veteran and sportscaster, Irv Cross passed away more than two years ago. However, a researcher at Boston University had taken up the duty to research the late footballer’s condition. As per People, Cross had been diagnosed with CTE while he was alive. After his diagnosis, he went on to further the cause for research and donated his body to science.

After his passing, researchers at Boston University discovered that he had one of the most severe stages of CTE. The researchers shared their findings and mentioned that the Cross was part of a group that researchers at Boston University had been researching beforehand.

The research in question also revealed some scary information about the chances of getting CTE while players played in the league.

The Boston University research went on to reveal the high chances of getting CTE if players played at the highest level. The study indicated that there is a 91.7% occurrence rate among NFL players getting CTE. The study went on to take into consideration 376 former NFL players. Out of the 376 players studied, Cross happened to be one of them. Furthermore, the news of the abundance of CTE has spread like wildfire and has gotten fans to raise questions about the actual viability of the game.
