The former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre made headlines for all the wrong reasons. A piece of big news came out that tainted the name of the Hall of Fame shot-caller. The story was about the misappropriation of $8 million in public funds. The money was meant for the underprivileged population of the state of Mississippi. Because of such a serious lawsuit against the legendary QB, many people want him removed from the prestigious Pro Football Hall of Fame. However, the legendary tight end and sports analyst, Shannon Sharpe, is furiously against such action.

Brett Favre was inducted in 2016 when Atlanta Falcons drafted him as their second round 33rd overall pick. The next season, they traded Favre to the Green Bay Packers in return for a first-round choice after seeing minimal play as a rookie. Don Majkowski, the Packers’ regular starter at the time, suffered from an injury which forced Brett into action in Week 3. From that point on, Favre started a career that lasted 20 years and saw him break many NFL records.
As he led the Packers to a 35-21 victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XXXI, Favre topped the league in touchdown passes for the second of three straight seasons in 1996. Since Super Bowl II, Green Bay hadn’t won a championship. In Super Bowl XXXII, Favre and the Packers came close to winning a second straight championship. But fell short against the Denver Broncos.
In his 302-game NFL career, Favre—an NFL idealized influence who participated in a league-record 299 straight contests—posted stats of 6,300 completions, 10,169 attempts, 71,838 yards, and 508 touchdowns.
Furious fans want Brett Favre removed as a HOF inductee
It is his stellar performance as a quarterback in the league that earned him a place as a HOF athlete. Therefore, Shannon Sharpe does not want to see a fellow player removed from the esteemed spot. However, the fans launched in anger at the former Denver Broncos TE! Sharpe is absolutely against the idea of removing Gunslinger from the list of Pro Football HOF.
ABSOLUTELY NOT https://t.co/3cUS7TRCKI

Have to disagree. Pro athletes should be measured on and off the field as they are public figures and role models.

So stealing money from the poorest state in the country doesn’t equal that losing your place in HOF??? lmao how you say that

Favre had 336 career interceptions. Never should have been inducted in the first place. Wildly overrated.

@ShannonSharpe correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t the main reason T.O. Not being in the hall originally was because of his so called “antics” off the field? If that was the case someone like farve doesn’t deserve hall honors anymore for what he did. Huge fan of the show btw! 🙏🏼

I disagree with you on this one Unc

Although the conversation and questions rose about Favre’s removal, no player ever has ever been removed.
