This past Sunday the Tampa Bay Buccaneers visited San Francisco to play the 49ers. As expected, the Niners got away from the encounter with a win. However, what the fans did not expect was the nature of the victory.

The home side simply blew away the Bucs. The game ended with a score of  35-7. While the defense looked out of sorts in this matchup, the major blame went to the offense and Tom Brady. The 45-year-old quarterback only threw for 1 touchdown and missed multiple throws to wide-open receivers.

Looking back at the Sunday night game between the Bucs and the Niners, former NFL TE and legend, Shannon Sharpe did not mince his words when it came to the visiting quarterback. Talking to his co-host Skip Bayless on their show ‘UNDISPUTED‘, Sharpe scrutinized the player’s poor showing. Holding the 7 time Super Bowl champion 100% responsible for the loss.

While the Bucs failed to score a single point in the first half. The first-time starter Brock Purdy helped his team to 4 scoring drives, establishing a 28-point lead. In addition to the first-half demolition, the men in red and gold scored another touchdown after picking off a pass by TB12.

In spite of the near-impossible task of a comeback, Brady took to the field and fired one TD to get some consolidation. But Sharpe did not like this. He then further blamed the player for simply doing it for the numbers. Sharpe said, “Why was Tom Brady still in the game late 3rd quarter down 35? To get stats!”

Brady threw for 253 yards with a completion rate of 61%. However, he also had two of his passes picked in the game, which is the highest number of interceptions in a game that he has thrown this season. With how things stand, the 45-year-old is currently on the path to having his worst record as a starter. The last time he lost 7 games in a season was with the patriots in 2002 when he even missed the playoffs.

Yet fortunately for him, the weak NFC South still holds the Bucs at the top and in place for a postseason appearance.
