In his “Club Shay Shay” podcast, Shannon Sharpe shared his thoughts on why Brady and Peyton Manning were great. With seven and two Super Bowl titles Brady and Manning sacrificed other facets of their life, to make their NFL journey count.
Sharing his views, Sharpe said, “You don’t have the level of success that Tom Brady and Peyton and these great. Because I’ve said this when people look at me like I’m crazy. The greater the player is the more selfish they are.” Sharpe clearly highlighted what it needs to be a great sportsperson. He emphasized being selfish toward their growth and improving their on-field prowess. But there’s a catch in this selfishness.
One of the major events in the NFL landscape is Brady and Gisele’s divorce. The major reason for the divorce is speculated to be Brady’s too much inclination toward the league, where he fell short of dedicating his time to his family. Shannon Sharpe reveals he was a terrible parent
Sharpe revealed his personal anecdote when he was dedicated to getting into the NFL. Highlighting his obsession Sharpe revealed, “I’ll be the first to admit. I was a terrible parent. It (NFL) drove me crazy because all I thought about was football. That’s all I thought about. How could I get better? Some kid in high school want my job, some kid in college want my job. I obsessed from the time I was about 11 or 12 when I really thought about going to the NFL.”
