The actor had spoken about how emotionally taxing and painful that split had been. Furthermore, she also mentioned how the breakup helped her.
Woodley has revealed that the end of her relationship might have been ill-timed. However, this exact timing might have been a blessing in disguise. It might make one wonder though, how exactly does a breakup benefit someone?

However, it seems like all was not a rosy picture in paradise. In fact, Woodley admitted that their split might have had a positive effect on her.
Woodley mentioned that the breakup came at a problematic time for her as she was shooting for her movie at the time, as per Page Six. However, she did mention that her role in the movie, which she played a part in, was cathartic for her. She said, “I was so grateful that at least I could go to work and cry and process my emotions through my character.” In a strange way, their breakup seems like it had helped the actress showcase an interesting performance in her movie. Furthermore, the cause of the breakup contributed to how the actress’ thought process worked.

Woodley further revealed that her breakup with Rodgers had led her down a dark path. She mentioned that she was going through one of the darkest times she had been through. The Fault In Our Stars actor also said that she had figured out a new way to take care of herself in an emotional capacity.
Ultimately, it seems like her breakup with Rodgers might have done her some good. The only question that remains is why did such a seemingly happy couple call it quits and when will we hear this from them?
