17YO High School QB Rushed to the Hospital in Critical Condition Due to In-Game Collapse, Mother Prays for a “Miracle”

The new NFL season is just around the corner, an exciting time for fans across the country. The bright lights of Karns City’s football stadium dimmed last Friday night when a devastating incident unfolded on the field.

The Karns City High School Gremlins clashed against the Red Bank Valley Bulldogs. Amidst cheers and the regular Friday night lights ambiance, a haunting silence befell the spectators. Referee Mike Vas binder, seeing the Pennsylvania-based high school QB, Mason Martin struggling to maintain his balance, halted the game. Things took an unfortunate turn since then.

On-field Tragedy: When Moments Define the Game

The Referee Mike, asked Martin “was he alright” to which Martin unconsciously replied “No”. Moments later, Martin crumbled to the ground. An ambulance sped across the turf, soon to be replaced by a helicopter that airlifted him to UMPC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. The scoreboard showed 35-6 in favor of Red Bank, but the figures no longer mattered.

As news spread of Martin’s dire state, Dov Kleiman, a notable Twitter personality, brought attention to the incident. His tweet read: “This is unfortunate news to learn, a high school QB, Mason Martin, was rushed to the hospital after an on-field collapse.” Concerned fans were quick to rally in support. Expressions such as “We’re uniting with you in prayer from Arizona” and “Praying for Mason” echoed throughout the Twitter-verse.

A Mother’s Plea Amidst Heartbreaking Circumstances

Shennell Crissman, a close friend of the Martin family, found herself struggling with emotions, torn between her own son’s involvement in the game and the distressing situation with Mason. Through teary eyes, she recounted Mason’s passion, “This little boy played with so much heart. He put his team first.” It was her son, a teammate of Mason’s, who relayed the harrowing news.

She shared, “He was very shaken up.” But as Mason’s situation remains dire, another poignant layer adds to the story. The Martin family is concurrently grappling with Stacy King’s, Mason’s mother, battle with stage four breast cancer. One fan decided to hold a candle vigil, emphasizing, “They would do it for us in a heartbeat. They make everyone feel like they matter.”
