Russell Wilson recently returned from injury against Green Bay Packers, but it did not go according to plan. The Packers shut out the Seahawks, annihilating them 17-0. Wide receiver DK Metcalf left the field after referees ejected him for rough play. It absolutely wasn’t the comeback Wilson sought.
After the fixture, Wilson sat down with AP Pro Football and discussed his future in the NFL. Not only did Wilson have some Tom Brady-esque response, he provided a valuable insight into his retirement. According to the Seahawks QB, he wants to play 20+ years in the NFL.

Russell Wilson is already a minority owner of Seattle’s home soccer team, the Sounders. They stand second in the MLS’ Western Conference, behind leaders Colorado and ahead of Sporting KC, the team owned by Patrick Mahomes. But a soccer team isn’t the only thing Wilson wants to own.
“I definitely want to play for a long time, but I think once I’m done, I’d love to own an NFL football team and to be able to impact a city, a country and just bring people to the game of football.” Wilson continued, “I’m very big into the business side of things and just sports in general. I love winning, I love the process of winning. So hopefully I can bring that culture to a team and organization.”
Maybe we’d see Wilson own the Seahawks after his retirement? He’s represented the Seahawks for his entire career, making it the most likely option. Do you think we’ll see Wilson own a football team after his retirement?
