On Tuesday, the trustee of the Paul G. Allen Trust released a statement stating, “As chair of both the Portland Trail Blazers and the Seattle Seahawks, my long-term focus is building championship teams that our communities are proud of. Like my brother Paul, I trust and expect our leaders and coaches to build winning teams that deliver results on and off the court and field.”
Jody states that the reports surrounding the sale were false. She adds that any potential sale might happen in the next 10-20 years. However, the immediate goal for the organization seems to be winning football games in the NFL. Even the franchise head coach Pete Carroll states, “She’s never entertained that thought at all. I haven’t heard her say that at all.”

The rumors surrounding the sale started circulating after the unfortunate passing of former Seahawks owner Paul Allen in October 2018. According to sources in Portland, the plan following the owner’s death was the liquidation of his assets for funding passion projects. While the timing of the sale remains unknown, the Russell Wilson trade seems to have opened the floodgates.

Apart from his problems with the organization, Wilson‘s switch to the Denver Broncos left the Seahawks in a weak position. The chances of competing for a Super Bowl title have never appeared more improbable than in the upcoming season.
However, the reports surrounding a sale seem to emanate more because of all reasons apart from Wilson’s departure. As another season approaches, the franchise is staring at a challenging season without their star QB. The 2022 NFL campaign presents a unique situation for the Seahawks roster. They will be looking to try to step up to the challenges ahead.
