The Matthew Stafford concern
The Rams QB Matthew Stafford left the field due to another concussion in week 11. The Saints defense sacked Stafford for a 9-yard loss in the third quarter. Bryce Perkins replaced him to complete the game as the backup QB John Wolford is dealing with a neck injury. But McVay has indicated that if Stafford goes into another concussion protocol, the Rams may end up signing a QB.
If Stafford lands in the concussion protocol, and John Wolford dealing with a neck injury, Sean McVay says the Rams are having preliminary discussions about signing another QB.

Stafford entered the concussion protocol after the Rams’ week nine loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He missed the week 10 loss against the Arizona Cardinals. Wolford played that game but sustained a neck injury that has limited him in practice. Stafford came back in week 11 and has another concussion scare. Hence the new QB talk.
Perkins completed five out of 10 passes for 64 yards as a Stafford replacement against the Saints. But he could not save the Rams from a fourth straight loss.

Title defense gone astray
The Los Angeles Rams started this season with high expectations. And why not, they had won the Super Bowl last season. But the current season hasn’t gone well for the reigning Vince Lombardi holders. The loss to the Saints was their fourth straight loss. The team has won just three games out of the 10 they have taken the field in. The title defense hasn’t really worked for them.
With a new QB crisis now, it doesn’t look like things are getting any better for the Rams. Their next game is against one of the favorites of this season, the Chiefs. And going to Kansas with a possibility of both the starting and the backup QB missing out seems ominous. Sean McVay would hope Matthew Stafford is cleared to play for that game.
