Former New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton is following Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady to FOX and will be part of their broadcast team. According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Payton will be joining FOX NFL Sunday crew on off days for Jimmy Johnson. The Super Bowl XLIV winning head coach was also rumored to be an interesting candidate for Amazon and their broadcasting team. Florio adds that it possibly will be a 1-year stint with FOX amid other plans for his future.
Before the reports of joining FOX became official, Payton was looking to be hinting at a comeback at coaching NFL teams. There were a lot of teams, including the Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins, and Carolina Panthers, looking to recruit Payton. However, it appears that Payton will be on the sidelines and in the booth for the upcoming NFL campaign.

Sean Payton was close to teaming up with Tom Brady in 2022
The former Saints head coach was close to joining forces with the Buccaneers QB after Brady announced his intention to retire. But those plans were shut down with developments within the league involving former Dolphins head coach Brian Flores. A Payton-Brady team up both on and off the field will remain a pipedream for every NFL fan.
Payton brings plenty of experience from his 15-year coaching career in the NFL and has keen attention to detail, which few head coaches can attain. Surprisingly, Payton’s announcement comes only a day following his former Saints QB Drew Brees leaving NBC.
There remain many possibilities for Brees, and there could be a Saints reunion in work behind the scenes.
