The Los Angeles Rams face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their Week 9 matchup. In the Rams’ last encounter with the Bucs, they successfully beat Tom Brady and his bunch and went on to win the Super Bowl, too. But Rams’ head coach Sean McVay is hoping this is the last time he has to face Brady, even though he did get the better of him last time.

Speaking in an interview with ABC7, Sean McVay explains why he does not want to keep facing Tom Brady. “I mean he is incredible. The ability to sustain and play at such a high level over a period of time, throughout the course of his career, it’s unprecedented. And he’s the ultimate competitor, you know.”

Sean McVay and the Rams prepare for a playoff rematch against the Bucs

This week’s game between the Bucs and the Rams may not be as illustrious as their previous encounter, but it is important nevertheless. The Rams are 3-4, and the Bucs are 3-5. A loss for either is a step farther away from contending for a playoff position. And it will not bode well at all, the defending champs getting knocked off the playoff race. Nor does it for a team that has the single most successful player in the history of the NFL.

The Bucs come into this week having lost three games in a row, Brady’s second such streak since 2002. Added to that, Brady’s marriage problems were seemingly taking a heavy toll on him. But the recent divorce may just free up his mind, and he might just get back to pumping on all cylinders. If that is the case, the Rams will have to be wary and prepared.

The Rams, on the other hand, lost their last game to the San Francisco 49ers and will be hoping to even out their record this season. They will be hoping the Bucs are not able to get their act together and put up a strong play. A win could possibly give them more hope of securing a playoff berth.

As it stands, their performance is not enticing enough to even speculate their former receiver Odell Beckham Jr. will even think of returning to the Rams. Will this game be a turn of fortunes for either of these teams?
