Former NFL QB, Blake Bortles, is smiling. He has a reason for his happiness. The 30-year-old, never imagined he would earn $47 million from the NFL. The Jacksonville Jaguars star achieved this vast wealth after 8 seasons of toil in the league. 

He could not hide his excitement as he heard the earnings during the Pardon My Take show. “Sounds nice, that’s awesome. I could not feel more. S*ck it, nerds,” he said with a smile. Initially, Bortles did not know how much he made because of the taxes. And that made him feel glad and grateful.

Blake Bortles and his NFL success

His journey started with the Jaguars in 2014. He set franchise records for single-season passing yards and touchdowns in 2015. In 2017, he played in the AFC Championship final for the Jaguars. However, Tom Brady led the Patriots to clinch the title. But, Bortles’ performance received wide appreciation.

Interestingly, the former QB, joined the Packers, when Aaron Rodgers contracted Covid. He later became the playing backup to the four-time MVP, A-Rod. In 2021, a deal worth $1 million deal was signed by the Packers with the talented QB. He was later elevated to the active roster for the City Chiefs game. The team released him on November 15. 

Previously, Blake revealed he had a LinkedIn account to find new jobs. He said he opened it to look at job offers after his retirement. However, he admitted the absence of work history is why he did not receive any offers.

Bortles has an aim: The 2024 Olympics

Bortles announced his retirement on the Pardon My Take, Podcast. He retired after a stunning NFL career. The former #5 covered 17,649 yards, 103 TD pass, and 75 INTs. The star set the Jaguars record for most TD passes in a season, with 35. He also has 59.3 completions.

Meanwhile, Bortles has a big dream which is to be a part of the US equestrian team, for the Paris Olympics. He already made a mark in the game of golf. The star has two little children and enjoys the role of a family man. BB would aim to translate his NFL’s success to grow his sporting career and win big.
