Jameis Winston is looking at the biggest opportunity of his career this season. After joining the New Orleans Saints last year, Winston is getting ready to compete for the starting spot.

Drew Brees calling time on his career has opened up the position for the first time in almost 15 years. Winston will be competing against Taysom Hill, who deputized for Brees last year.

However, Winston is confident about his chances.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Jameis Winston spoke to NOLA.com about his ongoing training camp. Winston talked about being the number one draft pick a few years ago, and how everyone forgot his potential.

But now, Winston has found his confidence once again. A very motivated Winston said that he is outworking everyone at the quarterback position.

“I went from being the No. 1 draft pick to being – everybody laugh at me. But guess what? I’m about that business. I’m outworking everybody at my position. I’m doing things every single day.

“Commit to the dream. Because that’s the thing, we have to go back to being little kids about this football game. Because this is a kid’s game that men play.”

Jameis Winston ready to fight for his role

Jameis Winston is extremely fired up going into the new season. He seems ready to fight for his place as the new starting quarterback for the New Orleans Saints.

After sitting on the sidelines for most of last season, Winston looks ready to earn his spot as the new starting quarterback for the team. However, it isn’t going to be easy, especially given his competition for the spot has some experience in the role.

Taysom Hill was given the opportunity to be starting quarterback last season when Drew Brees went down with a rib injury. Hill did a good job during his time, and the Saints maintained a decent record with him on the field.

However, Saints Head Coach Sean Payton isn’t going to grant Hill the role based on his exploits last year. He will have to earn the role, and duke it out with Winston.
