However, he did express interest in the drama that would follow if Rodgers were to join the Jets. Leaf, who now lives in New York, stated that he would wear an Aaron Rodgers Jets jersey for a straight month on his show if the deal were to happen.

Leaf, who spent five years in jail on burglary, theft, and drug-related charges, stated that he doesn’t think Rodgers will be a good fit for the Jets. “I just don’t think it’s going to work out well for you guys,” he said, referring to the team’s reported interest in the Green Bay Packers’ star quarterback.

Ryan Leaf cautionary as Rodgers considers Jets deal

Later, the intention to play next year and potentially play for the New York Jets revealed by Aaron Rodgers. This information provides more context for the potential deal that Ryan Leaf was discussing earlier.

“I’ve just been focused on working out and taking care of my business out here. I obviously have an agent, and the GM’s have been talking, I’m sure about that at this point. Like I said, it’s my intention to play for the Jets but I’m still under contract with the Packers.” – Aaron Rodgers telling McAfee podcast.

Once highly promising football player Ryan Leaf had a troubled career in the NFL and personal struggles leading to prison. Now an advocate for mental health and addiction recovery, Leaf serves as a cautionary tale on the perils of success and ego in professional sports.
