Before she was the wife of an NFL quarterback, Gisele Bündchen took over the fashion world by dominance. Well, Ciara is no different. Before meeting present-day Denver Broncos QB Russell Wilson, Ciara conquered the world of music with her hit contemporary R&B numbers.

After recently coming out with her hit single ‘Da Girls’, Ciara has enjoyed unprecedented social media success in the last few weeks. Her song reached the top of the audio and music video charts on iTunes. This has led to a massive inflow of new Instagram followers. Ciara just reached 34 million followers on the platform, and she shared her achievement via an Instagram story.

Look at it this way. Ciara’s husband and Super Bowl XLVIII champion Danger Russ has only 5.5 million followers. That’s almost six times less than his wife’s following. To understand this achievement better, recently retired 7x Super Bowl champion quarterback Tom Brady has 13.7 million followers. His supermodel ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen, has 21.2 million. That brings the former couple’s total to 34.9 million, less than a million more than Ciara’s solo number. Whew!

Cristiano Ronaldo has 560 million followers, followed in the second spot by World Cup champion Lionel Messi with 440 million. Lakers legend LeBron James also features on the top 5 global list with 148 million followers.

Russell and Ciara’s other ventures besides music and football

It’s not just the NFL fans and the R&B fans that have contributed to the growth of Ciara’s social media profile and image. The Wilsons also stepped into show business as they come out with their first movie production. The couple’s brainchild, ‘Why Not You Productions’, is coming out with the much-awaited WNBA documentary, ‘Unfinished Business’. Russ and Ciara also have a children’s book called ‘Why Not You’.

Other than producing movies and books, Ciara and her husband are also actively involved in philanthropy. The duo received the Paul G. Allen Humanitarian Award for their contributions to society and various non-profit organizations. The former Seattle Seahawks passer and his wife are also founders of the fashion line ‘The House of LR&C’, and fragrance line R&C. Add to that the Seattle Sounders MLS ownership as well.
