The Hall of Famer has a great relationship with Wilson, yet he has been very about the situation of the Broncos. According to the 66-year-old, while everybody wants to blame the coach, Russ deserves his share of criticism. “Everybody wants to blame the coach, but this is what Russell wanted.” Moon said. “He wanted to be a pocket quarterback. That’s what he has always wanted. All that stuff about, ‘Let Russ cook’ is really him talking about wanting to be in the pocket all the time. He can’t do that. He’s too short.”
Even before the trade took place. Multiple reports claimed that Russ was unhappy with the Seahawks and HC Pete Carroll over how they used the player. Alas, the player got his move and came to an offensive-minded team and coach. However, Wilson currently leads the worst offense in the league. Denver has the lowest points per game (14.9) out of all the teams, they are on their way to a historically bad offensive season.
