Former Seahawks middle linebacker K. J. Wright was part of the Super Bowl XLVIII winning side. Years after their domination and the recent Russell Wilson trade to the Broncos, Wright opened up on The Herd with Colin Cowherd. He felt that Wilson could have done things a little differently, especially when it came to building team chemistry.

According to Wright, Russell Wilson was not concerned about his relationship with the team

The linebacker said Wilson paid more attention to his business and endorsements over his teammates. One thing with Russell, if Russell could probably go back in time when it comes to relationships with himself and his teammates yeah I believe that Russell would want to put a little more emphasis a little more effort into being present in the locker room,” Wright said.

K. J. Wright was part of a Seahawks franchise that reached back-to-back Super Bowls. Led by Russell Wilson, the side had some hard-hitting names like Beast Mode running back Marshawn Lynch and defensive behemoth Richard Sherman. They won the 2014 championship, but things started going wrong from their second Super Bowl when they faced Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. Wilson failed to connect from the one-yard line and with seconds remaining on the clock, Patriots’ cornerback Malcolm Butler intercepted the ball. And that was it.

But over time, former Seahawks like Lynch and Richard Sherman have questioned Wilson’s decision-making during that Super Bowl loss to Tom Brady.

Danger Russ is not missed after the arrival of Geno Smith

The Seattle Seahawks found a new franchise quarterback in Geno Smith. They are currently having a great 5-3 season at the top of the NFC West division. K. J. Wright only had words of praise for Smith.“He has been absolutely phenomenal. He’s someone you can build around,” the linebacker said. Recently Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett also made comments in a post-game presser where he said the team plays better when nobody cares about getting the credit. Whether this was a subtle dig at Wilson, only Tyler can tell.
