Well, cut to 2022, and Wilson is one of the elite quarterbacks with a dual-threat ability. The Seahawks love him and even though there have been multiple reports of trouble in paradise, Russ will ‘be cooking’ in Seattle for the foreseeable future.

Russell Wilson Wants to be QB till 2034

Speaking of the future, Wilson has long-term plans of staying in the NFL. The Super Bowl MVP has categorically said that he aims to be around for at least a decade if not more.

The 9-time pro bowler visited the Jimmy Kimmel Show along with his wife, Ciara. The power couple was there promoting a children’s book they have written in collaboration, called “Why Not You?”

Jimmy Kimmel mentions what Wilson has repeated multiple times: that he wants to play until he is 45. If he does that, even with an average career from here on out, he will outdo Brady in terms of longevity and will have a really good shot at his records due to the inflated offense.

Well, except for health and injury concerns, the main issue that players face when going up against ‘Father Time’ is not having their family’s approval. It is a tough ask to go away for 4-5 months a year and also keep up with the health and training procedures throughout the rest.

One is bound to miss a recital here and a soccer practice there. And more than that, missing out on spending time with your significant other is a major part of deciding to move on from a sporting career.

Family’s Thumbs Up!

But in Russell Wilson’s case, this part is sorted. His wife, and famous singer-songwriter, Ciara, has stated that she has no problem with Russell pushing for as long as possible. Rather, she also works on her health and fitness along with the Seattle Quarterback.

When Late Night Host Jimmy Kimmel asked Ciara if she found her husband “annoying” for wanting to play till 45, she said, “No, I’m in it with him.” The Singer supports her husband’s bid to focus on his career and play for as long as he can. It is refreshing to see how aligned their goals are and clear the vision is.

It does not seem like just verbal support as well. The two make time for health and keep altering their diets to fit their health needs. It takes a lot of self-control. And sometimes Russell is on his routine, his mind wanders and asks “Is it worth it?”

That’s when Ciara chimes in to remind the Super Bowl-winning QB that it is all worth it in the long run. Such determination and vision are some of the main prerequisites of aiming for a long career in sports. And Wilson has that covered.
