In Week 13 of the NFL, the Kansas City Chiefs went up against the Denver Broncos. The game in itself was a hard-fought and exciting event. However, unfortunately for Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson, things did not turn out so well. The 34-year-old hit his head on the turf after attempting to run on a 3rd and 11. Following the play, he had to be taken off due to the concussion protocol. While he cleared the check last week only, the team opted to rest the player against the Cardinals for his own good. But after a week of no football, Russ is locked on making his comeback.

On Wednesday, Russ addressed the press and gave clarification on his return. “I feel great,” added Wilson. “[I’m] super aware. The medical team here did a great job. To be able to heal quickly and just to be able to get back on the field and be able to practice Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. I was ready to roll.”

In the absence of the Super Bowl winner, Brett Rypien stepped up to the plate for the team. Even leading them to a win against the Arizona Cardinals last week. The backup threw for 197 yards and 1 TD paired with 1 interception as well. But the QB was highly efficient as he made 21 of the 26 total passes he attempted. On the other hand, his efficient throwing enabled the team to put in a great rushing performance.

Russell Wilson is ready for the next challenge

The Broncos will be gearing up to face the Los Angeles Rams this Sunday. After missing out on some action last week, Wilson will be waiting to get his chance back on the field. Following his week of rest, it seems that the coaching staff is completely satisfied with the progress that the 34-year-old has made. Head coach Nathaniel Hackett is absolutely convinced of his condition. “He’s full go, we’re full go, he’s full go,” Hackett said. “It’s about winning the football game.”

However, with a record of 4-10, this season seems like a lost cause. The Broncos will now just be hoping to see the best of their $242 million quarterback and they’ll be expecting him to get the offense ready for the next season. While the fans dream of a ride to the playoffs after 2015, which was the last year, the team played in the postseason.
