Russell Wilson and Co. are now leading the AFC West after their Week 3 win. All thanks to those punts, which were the highlight of the game. The NFL legend Eli Manning couldn’t resist his emotions watching the game and took a dig at Wilson’s $235 million contract for playing a lot less than Denver’s Punter Corliss Waitman. Reverting those comments, the Broncos passer responded by showering some light on his records against Manning.
Even veterans couldn’t resist mentioning the eventful game where Waitman played a major role in the Broncos’ win. The two-time Super Bowl Champion Eli Manning hosts ManningCast, along with his brother Peyton Manning for Monday Night Football.

While the duo was busy watching the game between the Giants and the Cowboys, Eli Manning poked fun at Wilson, saying the Broncos should have paid $245 million to the punter instead of the quarterback.
Altogether, 17 Punts were made in the game. And Waitman individually contributed for 10 of them with an average of 47.6 yards. It was a dramatic win for the Broncos in the final quarter, with Wilson’s last drive for a touchdown before the final whistle.
In Wednesday’s press conference, reporters asked Wilson to comment on Manning’s statement for him. Everybody knew that it was all meant for fun. However, the quarterback didn’t let the matter go loose. Instead, he recalled the old days and his records against the NFL great. “You talking about Chad Powers?” Wilson said.

“I’m 3-0 against Chad Powers. Listen, it’s just part of the game. Those guys have fun and everything else. I have a lot of respect for Peyton and Eli. I’ve always looked up to those guys, so I’m not stressed about it,” he added.
For those who are unaware, Chad Powers is a character Manning uses to disguise himself as a college QB at Penn State and list himself for the selections.

To some extent, Wilson’s 2022 season began with lots of jitters. Although he is 2-1 ahead, there has been lots of drama surrounding his coach Nathaniel Hackett since Week 1.
It now happens to be a valid question whether Wilson was able to live up to early expectations and the fame he garnered among the Broncos fanbase. After bagging a lucrative $245 million contract, Wilson connected for only 743 yards in the last three games.
