Denver Broncos are having a terrible season and their star quarterback, Russell Wilson, also endured a pretty poor season so far. In a recent interview, Wilson pointed out one particular reason why his team performed poorly this season.

Notably, Wilson moved from the Seahawks to the Denver team this off-season for a record amount of money. However, his performance was not up to the mark, and he had to face a lot of criticism for it. On Wednesday, he talked about their third-quarter performance, which was one of the main reasons for the Broncos’ losing record this season.
Russell Wilson talks about his team’s third-quarter performance
While talking to the reporters, Wilson said, “Our third quarters have been part of why we are where we are… It’s not even a part of it — it’s a big part of it.“
“I think we’ve had pretty good first halves, for the most part, decent. Some better than others, but the third quarters have slowed us down tremendously,” Wilson further said.

As per the statistics, Wilson does have a point. Certainly, they have been pretty abysmal in the third quarter this season, averaging only 1.2 points per game in those 15 minutes. That’s just barely one touchdown per six games, which was one of the big reasons why the Broncos are 3-7 at the moment.
Can the Broncos make a comeback this season?

It’s almost an impossible task at the moment for Wilson and the Broncos to make a comeback at this stage of the season. With 3 wins and 7 losses in 10 games, they are at the bottom of the AFC West division. If they win their next six games, the Broncos will have a 9-7 record, which could still not be enough.
In their group, the Chiefs are dominating at the top with 8 wins and 2 losses. The Chargers and the Raiders are not having a great season either. If the Broncos get to second place, they will have a big chance. Also, they need those two teams to lose their remaining games, which would help the Broncos’ chances.

However, their next game against the Panthers will dictate a lot of their season. If they lose that game, it will be pretty much over for them; and if they win, they will be on the hunt for the playoffs.
