The Russell Wilson-Seattle Seahawks problems have found more momentum following recent comments from the new Denver Broncos quarterback. Wilson recently shared his feeling about joining the Broncos and believes he is joining a winning roster in 2022. While his comments will draw a lot of cheer from his new home, but leaves his old team with a sour taste about themselves.

The former Seahawks QB was publicly admitting his intention to stay in Seattle before he got the opportunity to leave. Despite some fans believing that the trade for Wilson was a necessity, it seems that Wilson did not leave the franchise any other choice.

The franchise faced some backlash from fans for how they handled the situation, but his recent comments might change that view.

While talking in a recorded video from Zac Stevens of DNVR Sports, Wilson states, “But also, once the trade was going to happen, I said, ‘Hey, listen, I want to make sure that I go to a city that wants to win. I want to make sure that I go to a team that wants to win. And I want to go to a city that knows how to win.’ And all those three things were checked off the box here in Denver, and so I think we’ve got a chance.

Is Russell Wilson walking away from his legacy in Seattle?

While his comments provide clear reflection about his situation with the Seahawks organization, it seems to be quite damning. Wilson won his first Super Bowl championship with the Seahawks, and the deterioration of their relationship is surprising. He was their QB and led them to back-to-back Super Bowl championship games in 2013 and 2014.

However, Seattle went only 3-5 in the postseason with him. The losses seem to have frustrated Wilson. He was looking for a way out of Seattle after removing the no-trade clause from his contract.

The opportunity to join the Broncos put Wilson in a position to compete for a Super Bowl title next season with a new team.
