When Wilson joined the Broncos, the NFL world expected to see his on-field antics as well as game-winning performances. Wilson, though, disappointed Broncos fans on Thursday against the Colts. Therefore, the Twitteratis displayed every emotion imaginable, from pain to rage to humorously mocking the Broncos quarterback.
The Broncos played horribly
According to ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit, the Broncos’ offensive line was “horrible” in Thursday’s game. Wilson threw an interception in the fourth quarter with the Broncos leading 9-6.
Chase McLaughlin’s 48-yard field goal in overtime handed the Colts the victory.
The old teammate Richard Sherman blasted Wilson after the colts won 12-9 at their home ground.“On the final play, you gotta run the ball. Again. I wish I had Marshawn up here. Like, 1 yard. You need 1 yard. Run the ball. Run the ball! [Charissa Thompson], all he has to do is run the football. Necessary criticism. I’ve said enough criticism for him, but got dang it, run the dang ball! Like, learn from your mistakes”
Twitter went above and beyond with the onslaught on Russell Wilson
Russell Wilson has the most wins in his last ten seasons as a quarterback. However, after being intercepted twice in the fourth quarter, fans started pointing fingers at him as well as memes too!
Following the Broncos’ loss to the Colts on Thursday, a fan published a random music video snippet on Twitter, saying that the celebrity duo squandered the $245 million Broncos contract money by dancing and singing! Of course, this implies Wilson’s poor performance was due to the lack of practice sessions!
