With the onset of the new season of the NFL on the way, there might be a new owner in town for the Washington Commanders. Dan Snyder, the current owner, has had a difficult few years due to one scandal after another, putting his reputation and the franchise’s reputation in jeopardy. And, fans and analysts have not yet stopped, as the change in ownership also saw a lot of flak from fans for Snyder for his dismal run as Owner.

As Dan Snyder gets ready to hand over the reins of the team to the possible new owners, sports personality Colin Cowherd had a few things to say about Snyder and his Commanders regime, and it was not positive.

Colin Cowherd disappointed with Dan Syner’s ownership run

In a recent episode of ‘The Colin Cowherd Podcast’, he talked about how Washington Commanders were one of the biggest teams in the NFL in the 70s and 80s. He talked about how the biggest rivalry back then was the Commanders vs Dallas Cowboys. But then, according to Cowherd, the franchise dropped its position in the NFL after Dan Snyder took over the ownership.

Colin Cowherd said, “Dan Snyder did as good a job as you possibly could do to ruin and tarnish a great name. It didn’t matter who was QB. Billy Kilmer in the 70s. It could be Joe Theismann, Mark Rypien, Doug Williams. Washington was really good for a long time but Snyder was greedy, treated people poorly, just about the money and about himself.”

Dan Snyder has made the decision to step down as the owner of the franchise, and a new group is in place to take over and has agreed to a $6 billion deal to buy the Commanders.

Washington Commanders to have new owners?

As per reports, Philadelphia 76ers and New Jersey Devils owner Josh Harris and his group have reportedly closed a deal with Snyder to buy the NFL team for a whopping $6 billion. The group includes billionaire Mitchell Rales and NBA legend Earvin’ Magic’ Johnson. The new group of owners will be hoping to help the franchise come out of its slump and rise to its former glory in the NFL.
