The Jacksonville Jaguars are a franchise in transition. Drafting quarterback Trevor Lawrence with the first overall pick, the franchise is looking to turn the page towards a new chapter. One that should bring them Super Bowl success.
Lawrence enters the league as one of the highest-rated quarterback prospects in years. His talent was on full display during his time with at Clemson where he led the Tigers to the national championship in just his sophomore year.
Now handed the responsibility of turning around the fortunes of a side that finished 1-15 last season, Lawrence is taking things one step at a time. And for now, the QB said that the focus remains on mastering his side’s playbook.

Speaking to the side’s official website, Lawrence talked about his goals and target with training camp approaching. Focusing on taking full control, mastering the offense is what Lawrence has on his mind.
“I want to just master the offense,” Lawrence said. “I want to have complete control, know everything, and be comfortable. You can’t really play free and play really well if you don’t know what you’re doing. That’s the goal, to master the offense by the time training camp comes around.”

It’s not just Lawrence who is coming to grips with the playbook. With a new Head Coach in Urban Meyer, the whole Jaguars side is taking on a new challenge.
“In training camp, we can focus everything on being the best team we can come August 14 and then going on into the regular season as well,” said Lawrence.
