The young and emerging linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys has big hopes for himself in the 2022 season. Micah Parsons, as a rookie, earned the Defensive Rookie of the Year honors. However, the LB’s dream of matching or breaking the rookie sack record was shattered after COVID-19 robbed him of the final game in the schedule.

Moreover, he was named to the first-team All-Pro after finishing with 13 sacks, 84 tackles, and 30 QB hits. As Parsons enters his second year in the NFL, he aims to break the all-time record. Jevon Kearse holds the record for most sacks by a rookie in 1999.
While commenting on his expectations for himself, the LB said, “Yeah, 15’s like the minimum. 15’s what I wanna hit. But definitely, 23 is that goal, to break the record.”
Further, the rookie sensation is hoping to bag the defensive player of the year award after he finished second last year. Consequently, T.J. Watt won the award after tying the all-time NFL sack record of 22.5.
How does Micah Parsons feel about his chances of breaking the all-time sack record in the NFL?
The Cowboys‘ LB hopes to be concerned with his personal goals and shutting out the outside noise. He reflected on his expectations, “I just take the blessings that God gave me. I don’t feel like I need to reach anyone’s expectations but my own. If I can live with it, I can deal with it.

Moreover, the second-year player said, “I’m gonna just go out there and play my game. I don’t wanna go out there and chase no one’s story. I just gotta do my thing, and that’s what got me here, and that’s what I’m gonna keep doing.”
Parsons’ minimum aim is to get 15 sacks this season, but his ultimate goal is the formidable record of 23 sacks.
