December 28, 1975, would become an iconic day for the NFL community after what transpired in the playoffs. In the fleeting moments of the Dallas Cowboys Vs. Both teams have been known to be rivals since 1970 and to this day, this is one of the most-watched rivalries of all time. At the time, ‘Hail Mary’ wasn’t something that was a part of the playbook. In a desperate attempt to win the game, Staubach had to improvise to make the play happen. Fortunately, the Cowboys won with a 3-point lead and proceeded to the playoffs leaving the Vikings with a chip on their shoulders.
But the opposite happened to Russell Wilson and the Broncos in the game against the Washington Commanders.
