Robert Kraft had a spectacular gala in New York City. He and Dr. Dana Blumberg surprised the guests after keeping it a secret but told everyone to dress festively. Several past and present franchise members and high-profile celebrities were in attendance. However, Bill Belichick’s absence is fueling a lot of questions. Do the billionaire owner and the NFL’s greatest coaches have some heat amongst them?

 

The event, hosted by Robert Kraft and Dana Blumberg, invited attendees to a ‘Kickoff and a Touchdown’ celebration at the Hall des Lumières in Manhattan. Hotshot celebrities like Jon Bon Jovi, Ed Sheeran, Elton John, Meek Mill, and many more were in attendance. Tom Brady also came in as a stag amidst marital troubles However, Bill Belichick’s absence is turning some heads, and Kraft’s harsh words in the past could be the reason for it.

In 2021, Dove Kleiman pulled out some lines from Seth Wickersham’s Book ‘It’s Better To Be Feared’. The ESPN’s senior writer mentioned how Robert Kraft once called Bill Belichick “the biggest f***ing a**hole” in his life. Kraft and Belichick had a troubled relationship. However, they were attempting to set aside gripes to maintain their victory.

For years, there had been tensions inside the franchise. Kraft occasionally complained to close associates that Belichick didn’t treat him with the reverence he deserved but wasn’t looking forward to life after him.

Belichick’s absence from Robert Kraft and Dana Blumberg’s party could have multiple reasons. But the tension among both of them could be the prime reason the Patriots’ Head Coach missed out on the festivities.

Robert Kraft wants more years of Bill Belichick as HC?

Bill Belichick is one of the brightest minds in the NFL. He is 70 years and established himself as the top name in not just one but multiple sports. With Tom Brady leaving after the 2019 season, it would have been ideal for Belichick to announce his retirement in New England. However, it appears like Bill Belichick’s position is as stable as it has ever been.

PFT’s Mike Florio recounted a chat he had with Kraft about Belichick. He mentioned, “Robert Kraft told me that he wants to see Bill Belichick coach into his 80s. He wants to see him perform at a high level like a Warren Buffett or a Rupert Murdoch well past his 80th birthday — he believes he can.”
