The ship has sailed on Tom Brady‘s return to the NFL. With every passing day, Patriots fans are coming around to the fact that the ring-counting times are over. And with Brady out of the picture, another retirement that is undoubtedly going to stick around is that of his former teammate, Rob Gronkowski. He’s not coming back. In fact, the only reason Gronk watches his own highlights these days is the nostalgia trip. And not to analyze game footage. The legendary tight end recently joined a Pats fan in celebrating an iconic touchdown.
With a career in Fox Sports, it’s clear what grabs Gronkowski’s attention off-late. Five years ago, Gronk would have hit practice to rectify any mistake he would have spotted. However, after four Super Bowls in the bag, Rob is more concerned about something completely different.

After recently catching a couple of friendly touchdowns from Tom Brady, during the latter’s ‘Autograph’ unofficial retirement party and ‘The Huddle’ launch last month, Robbie G couldn’t help but walk down the old glory road. A fan helped, as she shared a throwback New England Patriots clip from a Week 11 game against the Indianapolis Colts in 2014.
Brady threw the ball to his trusted TE, who made his way through the entire Colts’ back line, dragging the ball with him for 26 yards for a touchdown. Oh, and Gronkowski leaped into the end zone. “When someone asks you what you did all afternoon- watch your grandson and watch Gronk highlights,” one superfan captioned the clip on his Instagram story.
The four-time Super Bowl champion made the fan’s day even better when he reposted the story. “Like a runaway truck. The commentary is top-notch,” Gronk noticed while taking notes for his broadcasting duties.

Besides excelling in Pickleball, catching the occasional touchdown pass from his old quarterback, and missing field goals in Super Bowls, Gronk is pretty much done with the on-field activities. In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, the ‘Runaway Truck’ confirmed that he is not coming back from his retirement.
“There’s no chance anymore. I’m happily retired,” the former Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers said, shutting the door on his playing career.
