Former NFL star Mike Williams, known for his tenure with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Buffalo Bills from 2010-2014, has left untimely. Born on May 18, 1987, in Buffalo, New York, Williams met his untimely end on September 12, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, Florida, at the age of 36.

Williams valiantly fought for a week on life support before succumbing to his fate. Williams, who initially made waves as a standout high school football player at Riverside Institute of Technology, continued to shine on the gridiron at Syracuse University before making his NFL debut in 2010, donning the Buccaneers’ jersey.

According to his agent Hadley Engelhard, Williams was engaged in electrical work when the incident occurred. The Buffalo Bills and The Buccaneers expressed their condolences, emphasizing the impact Williams had on their organizations.

The Buccaneers also expressed their condolences: “We are saddened to hear of the untimely death of Mike Williams, which has left our organization, his former teammates and fans with heavy hearts.”

Reports initially indicated Williams had passed away, but later clarified he was on life support. Last week, an article reported that Wendell Muhammad and Francina Palmer, Mike’s parents, disclosed details about the tragic incident (or death), which has since sparked controversy. Conflicting reports surround the nature of the accident, with some sources claiming a steel beam struck his head, while others suggest an electrical mishap.

Williams’ wife, Tierney Lyle, recounted his struggle to regain mobility. In recent news, Tierney Lyle, Williams’ wife, told the Tampa Bay Times that she observed him waking up when she and their daughter, Mya, spoke to him. However, he was in tears and unable to move. She mentioned, “He doesn’t give up easily at all.”
