Only a handful of guys in the NFL know the glory of winning a Super Bowl ring, while these athletes forge a brotherhood amongst themselves. One such tribute was offered by the two-time Super Bowl champion Von Miller to his Denver Broncos teammate, Demaryius Thomas.
Back in 2021, Thomas passed away succumbing to his health. An autopsy report from the Fulton County (Georgia) Medical Examiner’s office showed “complications of a seizure disorder,”
Von Miller’s wanted a more perfect imprint of his beloved teammate and had his own way of doing so.

The tattoo of Demaryius Thomas shares amazing company, as right next to it is Dirk Nowitzki in a Dallas Mavericks jersey.
Miller and Thomas have had their fair share of ups and downs as teammates, but share the unbreakable bond of conquering the summit together.
While his appearance on The Volume, Von Miller reflected on the loss of Broncos teammate Demaryius Thomas, “Every time I think about it, it’s tough. He was my brother, but I am at peace with it because I wasn’t afraid to love DT, everybody be like Von loves DT, his family knows i love him. I loved the guy, man. That was my boy, man. I love how big and fast and strong he was. But he was a gentle giant man. ”
Von Miller went on to share about their families being extremely close to each other, “My daddy is really close with his dad, and my mom is really close to his mom”
Reflecting on the time when Demaryius Thomas got traded, Miller said “When DT got traded, that hurt me. I went to the locker room after we played at Texas, and we lost that game too. I am in that locker room to see DT and talk to DT.”
Von Miller certainly misses Demaryius Thomas to this day, and maybe this tattoo will help him cherish all the memories and times they spent together.

Why do we play?
The LA Rams, ran through the NFL in 2021 to clinch the Super Bowl LVI game over the Cincinnati Bengals. The year was a particularly unique one for Von Miller as he had his fair share of good and bad news along the way.
When asked about his determination, Miller said, “I don’t think I’ve ever played for more in my career. I was playing for D.T.; he passed away suddenly in December. I was playing for my son; he was born in August. I was playing for [sports psychologist] Trevor Moawad; he passed away after the very first game of the season”
