Russell Wilson along with the Seahawks and Ravens has experienced a tremendous loss in the past 24 hours. After news broke earlier this morning, the untimely demise of former NFL RB Alex Collins has shaken the NFL community. The passing of the RB comes as a shock to many after it was revealed he was involved in a horrific car accident.

Moreover, the death has brought forward many mourning the death of the RB, including his former teammates and friends. The Seahawks and Ravens’ Twitter handle have shared their heartfelt message remembering Alex Collins. Following the team’s message, one of his former teammates in Russell Wilson couldn’t hold himself back from sharing a heartfelt message mourning Collins’ loss.

Wilson and Collins spent 3 years together in the NFL as they shared the pitch at the Seattle Seahawks. Along with the time spent together, the QB and RB developed a keen relationship over the years, and it is visible in the tribute that Wilson has shared on his Twitter handle.

Following the unexpected demise of his former teammate, Wilson shared, “To one of my favorite teammates. You brought joy to every huddle. Keep Dancin’ in Heaven. Love you AC. Forever missed. #RIP.” The two shared quite the experience on the NFL and training pitches, as Wilson remembers fondly of their memories together. The dance comment from the former Broncos QB was a subtle nod to Collins’s love for Irish dance, which he had picked up in his early years.

In light of the latest developments which robbed the world of the NFL star, Alex Collins. Many will be mourning the loss of the man who brought joy to them including Russell Wilson. Despite having his career cut short, Collins led a solid career in his 5-year stint in the NFL with the Ravens and the Seahawks.

Following his debut season with the Seahawks in 2016, he’d move to the Ravens for a 2-year stay with the Baltimore outfit. After spending two seasons with the Ravens where he’d make 25 appearances for them, he’d move back to the Seahawks. The second Seahawks stint would reunite him with his former teammate and friend Russell Wilson. It’d also mark the completion of his 50 NFL appearances, 25 of which came with the Seahawks.

Collins would put up impressive numbers during his time in the NFL, rushing almost 2000 yards in 50 games, averaging 40 yards/game. The yards would come from less than 500 attempts implying he was quite effective whenever he got on the field. He’d heed the call from his team whenever they needed him as he’s proven to be an effective insurance policy.

Following the announcement, Wilson was one of the first to respond and pay tribute to his dancing teammate.  Collins’ unexpected demise will rekindle the memories of both fanbases as they mourn his loss.
