Former NFL CB Richard Sherman made an interesting take on the demand for quarterbacks in the NFL while naming Green Bay Packers rookie quarterback Jordan Love. The former Super Bowl champion was hinting at the allure that currently the Packers’ backup QB would have in the current QB-thirsty market. The Packers recently re-signed their 4-time league MVP, Aaron Rodgers, on a new mega-deal, and hence Love once again finds himself on the bench.

The Wisconsin-based franchise seems to be finding out the financials to keep both Rodgers and Davante Adams happy. It looks like once they settle that issue, they may entertain a trade for the supposed Rodgers’ replacement in Jordan Love.

While Love hasn’t been able to show his full potential due to the lack of clear-cut opportunities, the Packers seem to be backing someone who has done it once in Rodgers.

The organization collectively remains ambitious to make another Super Bowl run in the upcoming season, and they seem to be building towards it. While talking on The Richard Sherman Podcast, the pro-bowl CB pitches into the conversation, saying, “There are a lot of QB-thirsty teams, and Jordan Love is a thirst trap.” The Packers had traded away a fourth-round pick to move up in the 2020 NFL Draft to select Love with the 26th overall pick.

Jordan Love: A useful QB option for other teams

The current NFL climate is possibly the best for Green Bay to receive the best possible deals for their young QB. The free agency has seen two big names in Rodgers and Russell Wilson going off the table and leaving few attractive options for teams. With the upcoming draft class being considered as not to be a QB-heavy class, Jordan Love could be the player all these teams have been on the lookout notice.

Some teams under desperation might over evaluate his value in the current market. They might end up trading for as much as a second-round pick to lure him to their team. There remain a few teams that don’t have a proper QB, and Love could be the gamble that is worth taking.

The Jordan Love situation could be nearing resolution with teams like Seattle Seahawks and New Orleans Saints looking for QB solutions. While the Seahawks have Drew Lock, the Saints will be taking some time amidst recent coaching changes within the franchise. The player could add further value as he continues being Rodgers’ understudy and take over when he eventually decides to retire.
