Aaron Rodgers is a fan of the Princess Bride. Over the years, the quarterback has not changed his franchise or his favorite movie. Well, the next season may see Rodgers change his team. However, he is going to stick to his favorite fantasy adventure comedy flick for the time being. His love for the movie is so much so that he has memorized lines from it.

No 12 loves the movie so much that he has memorized the lines from the 1987 Robin Wright- Cary Elwes starter, adapted from the book by William Goldman. And over the years, fans have seen the Green Bay Packers QB quote the movie in post-game presentations and elsewhere.

Many of Rodgers’ younger teammates have expressed their bewilderment at Aaron, quoting Princess Bride lines. Most weren’t even born when the rom-com came out. Aaron’s favorite line is something that the character Vizzini says in the movie. It goes like this: “Let me put it this way. Have you ever heard of Plato, Aristotle, Socrates? Morons.

Rodgers even appeared on an 80’s movie podcast, ‘Chips Dips N Dork’, one time to discuss the movie for almost an hour. As a child, A-Rod’s choice of character in any roleplaying was always Wesley, played by Cary Elwes. Rodgers was a huge fan of his character’s dry sense of humor, an aspect the quarterback has since imbibed himself.

The biggest proof of the Princess Bride love came ahead of Aaron Rodgers’ Jeopardy appearance in 2021.

There’re some laughs, maybe some tears, excitement, mystery,” Rodgers answered Woodley as to what fans could expect in the episode. “It’s like ‘The Princess Bride’. Fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, miracles, true love. You never know,” the 4x league MVP had said. Rodgers also answered a Princess Bride-related question on the show during his subsequent appearance, handing out some trivia to the then-defending champion Brandon Deutsch.
