This year’s Kentucky Derby is a special occasion. Why you ask? It is because it celebrates the 50th anniversary of Secretariat, the racehorse that broke all records back in 1973, and that still stands on top in the derby. The racehorse went on to clock a time of 1:59.2, a derby record that still remains unbeaten. Apart from this, Secretariat also won the Triple Crown, establishing the base to become the greatest racehorse ever in the derby.

So NBC Sports went on to bring the GOAT of the NFL, Tom Brady, to narrate the piece celebrating Secretariat’s triumph in the Derby. He drew a parallel line between his own NFL career and that of Secretariat. In the narration, Brady went on to talk about how fate has paved the way for both of them. He drew a comparison of Penny Chenery becoming the owner of Secretariat because of losing a coin toss, to his own start in the NFL as New England Patriots starting QB Drew Bledsoe got hurt. The video receives flak because fans felt that Brady was talking just as much about himself while commemorating the greatest racehorse ever.

Will Brady take to the booth as an analyst?

Andrew Marchand of the New York Times recently reported that he is unsure of whether Tom Brady will work for FOX as their lead analyst. He had signed a lucrative 10-year $375 million deal with the Network, set to begin from the 2024 season. The uncertainty came to light because it will involve traveling. And Brady also took this year to focus on prioritizing his time more with his children. But the GOAT himself came forward, labeling the reports as ‘Fake News’, as he seems to be confident in himself on starting his broadcasting career.
