Ever since calling it quits from the NFL in February 2023, Tom Brady has spent a considerable portion of this spring offseason refuting rumours and squashing fake news. Be it questions about his dating life or the possibility of a comeback to the NFL, Brady is frequently on social media giving light to the truth. This time, TB12 decided to stop the gossip around his Fox Sports broadcasting job, once and for all.
In his first post-retirement off-season, TB12 is finding it hard to sail smoothly with constant rumors around every aspect of his life. However, when some reputed media houses floated the possibility of Brady walking away from the Fox deal, he couldn’t sit back and watch anymore.

Before retiring from the game, former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady penned a 10-year $375 million contract with Fox Sports. This was to appear on their NFL broadcasting desk alongside Kevin Burkhardt. However, days after his retirement, Brady announced that he will not be taking up the media gig until the fall of 2024. His reasons for delaying the gig? Brady wants to be better at the job before joining the professionals in the box. So how has the conversation now shifted to Brady ditching Fox Sports entirely? Well, it all started when the New York Post’s sports media insider Andrew Marchand shared an innocuous opinion on ‘The Marchand and Ourand’ podcast.
“It was at 51 percent that he’s going to do it to 49 percent. With the reasoning it’s so much money, he’ll try it for a year. However, I’ve talked to a couple of people recently close to Brady. And I feel like I’m going more 49 percent chance he does it. 51 percent chance he doesn’t. I don’t think he wants to travel that much,” Marchand hypothesized. However, it was news aggregator Dov Kleiman who technically lit the match on the whole thing. Kleiman took Marchand’s words out of context and tried to blow the entire thing out of proportion.

“Tom Brady might quit his new 10-year, $375 million deal with Fox Sports,” Kleiman tweeted.

TB12 hasn’t lied yet about his post-retirement plans yet
There is a reason media houses and fans doubt the finality of any decision Brady makes.
This has been the norm since the 15x Pro Bowler retired for the first time in February 2022, only to gear up and announce his return 40 days later. However, despite the constant second-guessing, this retirement looks to be set in stone. When tales of a comeback with the Miami Dolphins surfaced, Brady squashed those rumors saying that he was too busy taking care of his daughter’s kitten.
