Monday night was a tragic one for the Jets, who lost their star quarterback Aaron Rodgers to a possible Achilles tear in the first quarter. Rodgers, who signed a two-year $75 million deal with the Jets in the offseason, was the hope of a franchise that had suffered for years. He left the game and the stadium early, leaving behind a heartbroken fan base that had waited for a new era with the Jets. Sadly, the bad news did not end there for the fans.

Earlier that day, the sports world learned of the passing of Cameron Weiss, a prominent NFL and MLB agent who had battled cancer for a long time. He was only 38 years old.

NFL agent Weiss was also the founder of Dynamic Sports Group, a successful sports agency that he launched in 2019. He represented several notable clients, including Chargers star Austin Ekeler, whom he helped secure a 4 year, $24.5 million contract in 2020. He also worked with NFL trailblazer Michael Sam, Eagles running back Boston Scott, and various professional soccer and baseball players.

Weiss was a Chargers fan himself and a respected figure in the sports community. His death was announced by his company on Monday and confirmed by NFL insider Tom Pelissero. Many people expressed their condolences and tributes to Weiss on social media.

Ekeler posted an Instagram message saying that Weiss had been “like a brother” to him and that he would always live on in his story. Eric Galko, the director of football operations and player personnel for the Shrine Bowl, called Weiss’ death “heartbreaking”. An X user named ‘Dom Davii’ commented on Pelissero’s post, “Rest in peace. God be with his family.”
