On 21st February, Lamar Jackson tweeted a snippet of the hit reality show American Idol. In this tweet, we could see Lionel Richie getting fans pumped up about the new season, talking about how it will be a magical experience for all.

But the quarterback, dubbed as the ‘smiling man’, said he thought that Richie was the person who played the father figure of Meek and Terry in BMF. This had left the fans divided on Twitter. While some developed a sour taste in their mouth because of this blissful ignorance, others laughed it off as a classic joke.

Despite all these reactions, Jackson owned up to his mistake in recognizing the talented musician. We saw him tweet out an apology as well while tagging Lionel Richie. But that tweet itself also carried a light-heartedness to calm down the situation that had been stirred.

There are not a lot of quarterbacks in the game, who prove themselves in their rookie seasons. But Jackson managed to prove himself pretty well on the field with the Baltimore Ravens.
