They brought him into their team in 2005 after a first-round pick. And since then, Rodgers has been one of the most popular and successful drafts of the Packers. However, seeing that he has left, the Packers are now reliant on their recently drafted QB, Jordan Love. Amidst the handing of the torch from the old to the new, it seems like the state of Wisconsin is also ready to start anew.
The state of Wisconsin, the home state of the Packers, has recently announced that they will be in line to conduct the 2025 NFL draft. Furthermore, they’ve also made an interesting announcement in terms of their budget.

Conducting the draft in their state is obviously a huge honor for a state. The NFL Draft brings in some of the best teams and coaches in the same place. And it seems the state of Wisconsin is eager to be the one to host it. The lawmakers of Wisconsin seem to be fully committed to making the NFL Draft 2025 a real and glorious possibility. As per WGN9, Wisconsin lawmakers have voted to approve spending a whopping $2 million to help with the staging of the Draft.
The draft is meant to take place in and around Lambeau Field. It is estimated to generate almost $100 million for the state as well as $20 million for the Packer. Interestingly, this draft would be a long time coming for the Packers.
The last time the draft was held in Wisconsin
Wisconsin’s choice just might be a good one for their city. With the state choosing Lambeau field, their decision might just rejuvenate the history of football in the Cheese State. Interestingly, the state hasn’t had a draft in more than 85 years of its history. The last Draft to happen in the state was for the 1940 season and it was very different from the drafts that happen nowadays.

For one, the draft for the 1940 season was held a day before the NFL championship game of 1939 between the Packers and the Giants. It was a bare minimum gathering of coaches and owners in Milwaukee.
All in all, it has been quite some time since the state and the people of Wisconsin have even seen a draft. It only remains to be seen what kind of preparations the city will put forward to have a successful draft in their State.
