Tom Brady and the Buccaneers clinched their second consecutive NFC South divisional title. On the way, they had to tame the Carolina Panthers, who were on their own making a run at the top spot. However, after losing 21-30 to the Pewter Pirates, they now find themselves out of any such contention. While the management of the team is looking to prepare for the new season, reports of a change in the coaching staff are floating on the surface. Especially after their latest conversation with Jim Harbaugh.

Panthers fired former head coach Matt Rhule earlier this season. Since then, Steve Wilks has taken on the mantle of interim HC. After a 1-4 start to the season, Wilks quickly reignited the excitement around the team with a 5-6 record till now. However, the coach was unable to take down the Buccaneers and has left a wide speculative door open for the HC office.

An NFL insider has disclosed that there has been a meeting between owner David Tepper and Jim Harbaugh. The subject of the alleged conversation, not an interview, is said to be around the vacant coaching role in Carolina. The team will be resuming their search for the right man in the coming weeks.

With one last game remaining on their schedule, Wilks will get another chance to stake his claim. The interim coach is currently a popular figure in the NFL community, owing to his success since taking over the team. For some experts, Wilks is already a ‘Slam Dunk’ for the role.

Panthers: Not the only animal in the jungle for Jim Harbaugh

In addition to the Carolina-based team, other franchises are also monitoring the Michigan Wolverines coach. Due to a disastrous season and the misfiring Russell Wilson, the Denver Broncos also parted ways with Nathaniel Hackett a week ago. Even before the news of a conversation between Tepper and Harbaugh came out, the Broncos have been in the race.

The organization is focusing on an experienced candidate, after taking a gamble with Hackett. They are hoping for a coach to bring out the potential of Russ that we have seen for most of his career. Besides Sean Payton and Dan Quinn, Harbaugh looks like a serious possibility. The Broncos are currently ahead of the Panthers in odds to hire the Wolverine.
