Joe Burrow proved all his doubters wrong last season. He took the Cincinnati Bengals to their first Super Bowl in 33 years. Burrow didn’t have the best of the rookie seasons that a player would like to have. As a result, he was under pressure to perform last season. He exceeded all the expectations. Moreover, he even became the best QB in the NFL in making two certain types of throws.

Doug Farrar of the Touchdown Wire recently made a list of which quarterback in the NFL is the best at making certain types of different throws. Burrow was listed in two of those categories. Firstly, Farrar named Burrow as the best QB in the NFL, working without pre-snap motion.

He said, “Burrow proved to be one of the NFL’s best quarterbacks in his second (and first full) professional season, taking the Bengals to the Super Bowl despite an offensive line that was… well, offensive. And he didn’t need pre-snap motion to make it happen.”

Farrar added, “Only Matthew Stafford had more passing touchdowns without motion (33) than Burrow’s 27, and Burrow threw eight interceptions to Stafford’s 10. Burrow completed 330 of 457 attempts for 4,126 yards, 2,183 air yards, and a league-high passer rating of 112.3.”

This accomplishment of Joe Burrow is significant due to various reasons

The way Joe Burrow has transcended into becoming a top QB in the NFL is quite mesmerizing. Last season, the Bengals’ offensive line was one of the worst in the league, yet Burrow was still able to make big plays. Moreover, he was the most sacked quarterback in the league last season. Due to this, he deserves much credit for his success.

The Cincinnati Bengals have improved their O-Line massively in the offseason. Joe Burrow will have more protection and freedom to make big plays that he wasn’t able to do last year. He and Ja’Marr Chase will again hope to terrorize the opposition’s defense throughout the year and take their team to another Super Bowl.
