Recently, Tom Brady was trying his hands at various business avenues, including the NFL. After he announced an abrupt retirement from the league, reports came out that the quarterback was poised to become a minority owner of the Miami Dolphins.

However, the proposal seemed to have fallen through after Brian Flores filed a lawsuit against the NFL. Despite the proposal needing the approval of 24 owners, Brady could have easily bagged the deal according to NBC’s Mike Florio.

Tom Brady wanted to own a slice of the Miami Dolphins

The deal was about to take place when Brady was enjoying his retirement days. According to the news outlet and the sources who know the dynamics of the process claimed that there is “zero doubt” Brady would have been approved. It is because speculators were claiming that Brady would have required permission from the League and other co-owners to move forward.

“Some are suggesting that the owners may not have approved the sale of a piece of the Dolphins to Tom Brady. A source with intimate knowledge of the approval process tells PFT there’s “‘zero chance‘ he wouldn’t have been approved” the statement read.

Also, there were other concerns regarding the financial gains arising from the ownership stake. Because it may be regarded as a circumvention of the salary cap. However, if the player pays the appropriate value for the shares, there won’t be any hindrances to his salary cap.

Even after coming out of retirement, Brady never mentioned the reason behind his abrupt decision. But a few days ago, the quarterback opened up his mind in front of the media.

“At the end of the day, I just love the competition on the field. And last year was a very bitter ending to a season, and we’ve got to make a lot of corrections and try to improve and put ourselves in a better position to succeed moving forward.” Brady spoke to ESPN.
