The Washington Football Team is a franchise that has been dealing with some ownership issues over the past few months. Various reports have suggested that majority owner Daniel Snyder is looking to buy out a from a trio of minority stakeholders who have been keen on selling their stake for some time now.
Snyder recently had to get a debt of $450 million waived by the NFL to buy out previous minority owners. Thus this development has been frowned upon by fans across the league. Many have criticized Snyder for his handling of the franchise over the years.
Buying the stake of the WFT minority stakeholders will give Snyder 100% equity of the football club. But perhaps he could sell some of it back to a Grammy Award-winning record producer going by the name of Jay Z.

“Nothing imminent. These things take months and sometimes break down. But I have it on good authority that Jay-Z is actively divesting assets to position himself for purchase of a stake in #WFT,” the tweet said.
The rapper is looking to become a minority stakeholder. And having a personality of his stature on board could prove to be an offer too good for Snyder to turn down.
The report by Burgundy Blog was further backed up by the comments of NFL insider JP Finlay.

Jay Z has previously held a stake in the NBA franchise Brooklyn Nets. This new venture would be his first foray into the NFL. Whether a bid for the same materializes or not remains to be seen.
But perhaps it would be in Snyder’s best interest to entertain a bid from the rapper if one comes around.
