But there seems to be more disturbing news for Tannehill in store about his franchise going behind his back with reports of the Titans organization trying to recruit star QBs like Aaron Rodgers and Deshaun Watson. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, reporting on NFL Live, the Titans considered all options this offseason. While both QBs ended up rejecting offers to play in Tennessee, it seems the Titans will be in for an awkward season. With Tannehill being their starting QB for the 2022 NFL campaign.

Schefter adds stating that the franchise will be looking to Willis for the long term. They will continue exploring what Tannehill can deliver in the upcoming 2022 NFL season. He states, “This gives Tennessee one year, one year, to bring in Malik Willis, to get to know his game, to bring him along, to grow him. While it sees what it has in Ryan Tannehill.” Despite winning the AFC South title in consecutive seasons, the expectations levels seem to be Super Bowl bound.

Ryan Tannehill has been put through the wringer

Apart from the attempts by the Titans to replace their starting QB, Tannehill has also lost his star WR A.J. Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles. There seems to be a whirlwind of changes in the order in Tennessee and continue trying to make the hard decisions. The premature and disappointing end to the 2021 NFL campaign puts Tannehill under immense scrutiny and has instilled an urgency.

Last season, Tannehill had a below-par season while recording 3,734 passing yards resulting in 21 TD passes and 14 INTs. The Titans’ GM Jon Robinson has kept the door open for their rookie Willis to show he deserves to start.

Robinson is keen to track his progress as he learns their offense, improves and gains the respect of his peers.
