Russell Wilson has had another failed season, as he failed to make the playoffs for the second consecutive season. And now, as the Seattle Seahawks seem to crumble, the veteran quarterback reevaluates his approach. Russell Wilson wants to explore more options beyond the Seattle horizon, as per NFL Insider Ian Rapoport.

This season has been disheartening for the quarterback. He missed three games for the first time in his career. And since his return, after recovering from his finger injury hasn’t been able to put on the desired numbers. Even his team doesn’t seem to back the star quarterback well.

The quarterback during his last press conference of the season revealed his intentions to stay with the Seahawks. “We’ve always thought I would be here,” Wilson said. “That’s been always my goal, to win multiple Super Bowls, and my plan is to be here and do that. You take every day and you just enjoy the moment.”

Is Russell Wilson leaving Seattle Seahawks?

He has not demanded for a trade and it’s not clear if he will, but his close peers said that he wants to explore more. Russell wants to see if other teams put him in a better condition to win him a championship. Apparently, the 33-year-old believes that there is no spark left in the Seahawks.

This has been the second season that the Seahawks have missed the playoffs since 2012. And clearly, his fellow athletes don’t resonate with the quarterback’s playmaking skills. Furthermore, the Seahawks in their regular end-of-season meeting have made no changes to the franchise. This implies that Seahawks would hardly let the quarterback go. He is still under a four-year contract worth $140 million, which will not end until two more years.
