The Saints appealed the massive $550K fine imposed on the organization for an intentional delay of game during their week 13 loss against the Buccaneers. The franchise was so convinced of their innocence that owner Gayle Benson directly approached NFL commissioner Roger Goodell regarding the matter. And it all paid off as the NFL took back the fine levied on the franchise and defensive end Cameron Jordan.
Jordan had received a fine of $50,000 for faking an injury during the Bucs game. Not only him, but the NFL had also fined defensive line coach Ryan Nielsen $50,000 and head coach Dennis Allen $100,000. On top of that, the franchise got a massive fine of $350K, bringing the total fine to a mammoth $550K. All the fines have been rescinded.
