NFL franchise New York Giants appear determined to change perspectives about gender in football. The Giants head coach Brian Daboll recruited former WFA player Angela Baker as a minority coaching fellow and offensive quality control coach. The former Pittsburgh Passion WR most recently served as the kickers and punters/special teams/defensive quality control coach.

Daboll’s hiring of Baker seems to be based on her playing experience as a seven-time All-American and the 2016 National Conference Offensive Player of the League. Although it is the first time she will be enjoying this responsibility, Baker knows the workings of the league. She spent time with the Cleveland Browns franchise as part of the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship.

Her appointment becomes the second female coach hired by the franchise. Laura Young, the Giants’ director of coaching operations will be having another female presence joining up with her. Young did join after a stint with the Buffalo Bills as a player services coordinator
New York Giants promoting big-time changes
Being a New York native, Baker will be proud to represent and coach one of the famous franchises of her city. It is a bold move from the franchise to bring in fresh ideas from a different perspective of thinking. Baker has her credentials and understanding of the league and football itself.
The position to be coaching a historic franchise like the Giants gives Baker a chance to experience the pressure which comes with the job. She will enjoy having the company of Laura Young, who will be sharing her one-month experience with the franchise. Daboll is ringing in changes that might have a path-breaking impact if they become successful.
