Placed in a rather bizarre circumstance, Dallas Cowboys star Trevon Diggs finds himself facing a lawsuit. But considering the fact that the league is known for its large contracts, this situation is perplexing. At 24 years old, the CB has amassed more than a decent amount of wealth because of his playing career. This is why his reported failure to pay certain bills is rather perplexing.

According to reports, Diggs is currently being sued for $250,000. But the reasons behind the lawsuit have left the NFL world bewildered. So, why is Trevon Diggs facing a lawsuit?

A former landlord reportedly sues Trevon Diggs

According to Forth Worth Star-Telegram, Trevon Diggs is being sued by his former landlord. Rose Marie Yadegar alleged that the Cowboys CB failed to pay rent and cited other reasons with regard to the lawsuit. According to her, Diggs allegedly paid the $5,500 that was due in the first month of his lease. The agreed monthly payment for the house was set at the aforementioned amount per month. The CB’s former landlords alleged that the initial payment was his only timely transaction.

Currently, Yadegar has presented the CB with a list of payments that need to be fulfilled. It includes a substantial sum of $33,500 in unpaid rent, alongside late fees. Other payments include carpet cleaning charges, yard maintenance, and repairs.

A mountain may have been made out of a molehill because of Diggs’ delayed payments

Trevon Diggs reportedly signed a one-year lease on Yadegar’s house in Frisco. The latter alleged that the CB had vacated the property after she threatened to evict him. Transactions like these should not cause too much of a problem, especially for an athlete of his caliber who is handsomely paid by the Cowboys franchise. The circumstances around the issue have been puzzling.

While this is an embarrassing situation to be put in, Diggs’ lawyer Scott Becker stated that the CB was surprised when he was made aware of the lawsuit. According to the New York Post, Brekke said that the CB assumed that the matter was dealt with while also insisting that he [Diggs] did not cause damage to the property. In the last few weeks, the NFL world has come across more than a few players who are dealing with legal troubles. As of now, the current status of the dealings between the CB and his former landlord is not known.
