Jimmy Garoppolo left the game early with his head down at Levi’s Stadium. The #10 QB suffered an ankle injury, and it led to him being subsequently out of the game against the Dolphins.

Later, the 49ers confirmed his unavailability for the season. However, the spirited 49ers prevailed over the visiting team with a big win. A 33-17 victory over the strong opponents (8-4) further boosted their confidence level.

But the question is how they will continue their remarkable journey in the absence of their star performer. 

What is the nature of Jimmy Garoppolo injury?

After the win, 49ers HC Kyle Shanahan arrived at the presser with an assured smile. Unarguably, he had a few tough questions to answer. Soon, an unnerved Shanahan revealed that his trustful ally has “broken a few things in his foot”.

However, the shocking update came a moment later. The coach said Garoppolo is out of the entire season. This statement sparked genuine concerns among several NFL fans. A major injury at the crucial stage of the league is a key jolt for the 1985 Super Bowl winners. Remarkably, the 49ers used backup QB, Brock Purdy, for the rest of the clash against the Dolphins. And he delivered in style.

Can Brock Purdy fill the void?

The 31 YO appeared to roll his ankle in the first quarter. He was sacked by linebackers Jaelan Phillips and Jerome Baker. As a result, he limped off the field and went to the medical tent for further treatment. A few moments later, Garoppolo was quickly moved into the locker room. And then came the disappointing news.

Meanwhile, Purdy proved to be a crucial addition and did not let the 49ers affect the injury and loss. He completed 25 of 37 passes for 210 yards. The 22 YO had two TDs and an interception. Notably, the million-dollar question in front of the 49ers ahead of the next game is, can the youthful addition serve them well to fill the missing star?
