Derek Carr didn’t expect to hit an end so abruptly after nine years of serving in the black and silver army. The Las Vegas Raiders benched their quarterback for the remaining two games of the season. And looks like it might be over at Las Vegas for Carr after head coach Josh McDaniels confirmed the news. However, according to insiders, it’s worse than that.

The Raiders’ head coach announced that backup former New England Patriots quarterback Jarrett Stidham will be starting the remaining two games against the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs. Josh McDaniels’ side is already potentially out of the playoff race. However, looks like the Raiders didn’t want to waste any more time planning for 2023.

On top of that, more troubling news emerged for Derek Carr when NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reported that Carr is no longer training with the team. “As part of the discussions that took place over the last few days, both sides concluded that it was best Raiders QB Derek Carr step away the final two games to avoid the obvious distractions, sources say. He won’t practice and will be listed as ‘not injury related,’” the official report on Twitter said.

College mate Davante Adams is not happy about the Derek Carr situation

Derek Carr could end up on the market at the end of this season and there are a few options that could open up for the 3x Pro Bowler. And one of them could very well be divisional rivals, Denver Broncos. They just fired their head coach, Nathaniel Hackett, before he could finish the season. And QB Russell Wilson could see some of the Derek Carr treatment, especially since they have a worse 4-11 record.

However, nobody can top Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams in the unhappy meter right now. Adams left quarterbacking royalty at the Green Bay Packers to join the Raiders this off-season. “I wouldn’t be here if he wasn’t here. Everybody knows how I feel about him,” Adams said to reporters after the news broke.

And he did so with the sole intention of playing with Derek Carr. Leaving Aaron Rodgers to do that only to not have Carr playing anymore is not sitting well with no. 17.

Carr is the Raider’s franchise leader in passing yards and passing touchdowns. This season he has thrown for 3522 yards and 24 touchdowns along with 14 interceptions. And three of those came in the ‘Immaculate Reception‘ golden jubilee game against the Steelers. And the numbers quickly added up for Carr. It will not surprise the NFL world to see the QB-WR duo leave Las Vegas during the upcoming offseason.
